How to get help or report issues?

To better address some issues and avoid clutter, we route certain types of issues to different places. If your issue falls into any of the categories listed below, please follow the instructions.

False positives (or negatives)

Head over to https://github.com/nextdns/metadata. Make sure you read the repository README first, as most of the time the false positive comes from a third-party blocklist and the issue should be directly reported to them.

High latency and other network issues

Open https://ping.nextdns.io to see the actual state of your routing to NextDNS. If this doesn’t look ideal, please follow the diagnostic instructions at http://nextdns.io/diag so we can better debug and fix the issue.

Head over to https://github.com/nextdns/nextdns.

  • My Xfinity app erroneously reports that my modem is offline, despite it working fine.  I am concerned that if I ever have an issue with my service that I will be unable to get assistance from Xfinity due to their not being able to "see" my modem remotely.  I have already added several sites associated with Xfinity and Comcast on my whitelist, which allowed their app to function with the problem mentioned above.  Any suggestions?

  • Analytics and logs settings and/or location I can’t find them in this site or in iOS app. Can they be viewed or have to be sent ?

James Scott If I understand correctly you're looking for the settings to manage logs that is done on the settings tab, you can disable them or move them to another location like Switzerland with better privacy laws etc and you can read the NextDNS privacy policy for the details but they have a pretty good policy.
