I can not open my work from home platform (Ivanti Pulse Secure + Citrix Workspace)

Hello!

When I work from home, I need to establish a VPN connection through Ivanti Pulse Secure app. Then, when the VPN is connected, I need to open a link in any browser to access a Remote Desktop, that works with Citrix Workspace. When connected to the tunnel, I loose my internet.

Using NextDNS, I can connect to the VPN using Ivanti Pulse Secure, but when I try to access the link in the browser, it doesn't load anything. If I remove the NextDNS profile in my MacBook, I can access and works normally.

I've added the link domain to my whitelist without success. If I see the log, I do not see anything blocked, so I do not know what to add to white list apart from the link domain.

Any help to troubleshoot it? @NextDNS

Thanks

UPDATE: If I delete the MacOS profile, but I have NextDNS with DNS over TLS in my Asus router using my profile, it WORKS. It is something about the profile for Mac.

Same issue in Windows 11 PC. Only works if I disable YogaDNS.

Any help? Where is the NextDNS team?

You will be unlikely to get any help from NextDNS directly, simply because this is a problem with the VPN setup rather than DNS services not working or something.

VPN setups are notoriously problematic when trying to use NextDNS with it, mainly because a lot of VPN providers have strict DNS restrictions.

Thanks for your response. I understand. But, I have a question. Why it doesn’t work if the MacBook configuration profile is installed, but it works if profile isn’t installed but NextDNS DoH is configured in the router directly?

The configuration profile interferes with the VPN connection DNS.

Without the profile, once you are connected to the VPN the DNS requests will not even reach your router, they are tunnelled to your VPN provider.

ah thanks again! Understood. Would be helpful if we can bypass an app from the profile.
