iOS 17.7.2 Stopped Working Since Latest Update

As the titles states, the app is crashing, does not let me toggle on or off nextDNS and crashes after about 30 seconds. Confirmed this issue with another device that was running fine without the update and once I updated the app it stopped as well.

Hi, i have Iphone 13 ios 26 latest version installed. I got the update 3.0 recently!

    1. Try closing the app and re opening it may resolve the issue!

    2. Re-install the app and see if it works!

As i confirm it works fine in my iphone after the update just Define your Phone so it will create new device list and old device will stop logging and now reflect your device name at the bottom of the device list. So Protections is still on just make sure you name it so it shows you the new logs in the new device name !

    Thanks from Kenya!

Thank you so much for your reply.

Quick update for everyone: I tested this on a brand-new iPad Pro running iPadOS 26, and version 3.0 of the app works perfectly there.

From my testing, the issue seems isolated to devices running iOS/iPadOS 17.7.2 up to 18.1. All devices within that range appear to be affected by version 3.0 of the app.

For example, I had a spare device on iOS 17.7.2 running version 2.0.1 of the app with no issues. The moment I updated it to version 3.0 through the App Store, it stopped working immediately.

The app becomes completely unusable. You cannot interact with it in any way. It freezes on launch, and if left open, it crashes on its own after approximately 30 seconds.

I’ve also confirmed that reinstalling the app, restarting the device, or performing a hard reset does not fix the issue.

At the moment, the only reliable workaround is downgrading back to version 2.0.1 (if you know how to do it). I’ve done this on both devices, and everything is working smoothly again.

If the NextDNS development team sees this, I hope this information helps identify the cause of the issue. Looking forward to a fix as soon as possible.
