Prixel 6 Pro shows me at home "the private dns server cannot be accessed".

I have not changed anything in my Next DNS settings on my smartphone or in the admin area of the website in the last 7 days. However, my Pixel 6 Pro (Android 13 with patches from 5th of January 2023) has been regularly giving this error message for a few days now.

My workaround:

I then activate flight mode and after that it runs until the next error message. Strange. I have never had this problem since I started using NExtDNS.

Does anyone know advice?

Thank you very much.

Chris

Ich have changed the filterlists from oisd to easylist(s). I don't know if this is related or can be related at all, anyway I don't have the error for 3 hours now. Let's see if it stays like this.

Chris Maybe something changed with android?

I can not help directly as I have no up to date android devices to test anything on.

What happens when using a different provider for private DNS option?

R P M  Hi RPM, i do not have the problem with another provider. Tried it with adguard.

I've noticed this error myself on my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 when configuring NextDNS DoT in Android settings.  Primarily, I use NextDNS DoH via AdGuard, so it's not a huge problem now.  But an issue, nonetheless.

Also getting this error, started happening today. Only happens on wifi though no matter which network i am connected to but works fine over mobile data.

Scudd found my issue, I had set my routers DNS to point to NextDNS and this seemed to conflict with the Private DNS of the phone. Setting my mobile device within the router to bypass the DNS IP fixed this issue.

Scudd I don't quite understand your solution. I want my phone's internet traffic to go through NextDNS as well, even when I leave the house. What does "bypass" mean in the router context?

      Scudd

Have the SAME PrivateDNS problem in these days with my new Honor Magic5 Pro with android 13. So sad. Had the same problem also with my previous Magic4 Pro with android 12. The bug is still there in NextDNS.

No problem with different private dns. Why this bug has not been fixed yet?

Have you tried disabling Cache boost for example? Any difference?

    We need a solution asap

It's not a bug. It's working fine. How many people use your network?
