Customer support?

A few months ago I paid for a year of your service, but I've not been particularly impressed. My bad, should have checked first.

Now, something is preventing my setup from working at all. And I can't seem to figure it out on my own. For the life of me, I can't find a customer support link I can email or contact. Where do I turn, other than using a public forum?

Ask you question on the forum, the community with us as a backup will answer. Please make sure you search the forum for similar issues first.

NextDNS It seems OpenBSD 7.0 has some issues using your service. I’ve not narrowed it down, other than I think it might have something to do with TLS. Still probing.

However, this experience has exposed what I feel is insufficient customer support for a paid service. The current issue is not your fault, but when it is I don’t want to rely on a public forum for support.

Do you offer pro-rated refunds for annual subscriptions?

NextDNS I asked a question here, and got no response from either the community or staff. I'm really sorry and totally appreciate this is going to make it seem like a whining Karen, but, as a paying customer, how is this meant to help me?

Rob de Jonge It's another DNS filtering tool, it's not bad but still in beta I tested it out a bit. Honestly unless you need the DNS Proxy, NextDNS is quicker in terms of ping, I get faster responses than anything else where I live down to even Cloudflare. I also don't know about their stability and network capabilities. NextDNS got hit with the whole Facebook thing and in their words had "30% more usage" and they said yeah we can handle far more than that. I'm a happy user and again Controld isn't bad by any means but I don't expect a product that's newly entering this whole DNS thing to fix your problems compared to something that's been out for years and ranks top 3 in DNSPerf constantly.

Hey I've found a similar experience with ControlD; their DNS filtering is nice and they've added multi profile support. Their network and anycast routing isn't as robust as NextDNS but they're also probably 2 years "younger" so probably have the same teething pains to go through. I have accounts with ControlD and NextDNS; using NextDNS now for the better performance (ControlD currently routes my mobile traffic from Eastern US to Mumbai!) but both services are interesting to watch.

Probably enough posting about ControlD on the NextDNS forums for now though, lol

They had a direct support on their website and honestly I saw people complain that they were using a third party support tool and it's bad for privacy etc etc. So it's like, people complained and probably the reason why it doesn't exist now. The forums is pretty active, someone usually replies in just a few hours and NextDNS support gets involved quite often honestly.  Not the most active but at a point most of the other "Support" that is offered, unless it's a business/enterprise is just people reading a script so at the end you get to talk to someone yeah but it doesn't fix anything.
