Abnormal amount of queries to *.nextdns.io (analytics)

Recurrently, I have many calls to Nextdns servers (root domains shows *.nextdns.io) on my analytics page.

Capture that shows these spikes (30 days).

Is this normal?
It is annoying because it completely distorts the connection analysis.
Thanks

Surprising. What exact domain(s) is it?

NextDNS in the last 30 days, I've got 45,533 queries to *.nextdns.io (of a total of 151,503)

Doesn't show anything in the logs...

NextDNS sorry didn't have much time. I checked and I've got lots of:

      `{random}-{config ID}.test.nextdns.io`

      Is this something nextDNS do?

mrbot this is a random hostname queried repeatedly the setup page (to show the status).

NextDNS ok, I'm beginning to understand.
It seems when my VPN switch to one of its servers, it pushes Linux to ping Nextdns... my VPN config file must be broken.
I'll investigate, thanks again for your help!

mrbot you can test without VPN.
It also „generally doesn’t make sense to use a VPN without their own DNS.
