NextDNS anycast2 resolves to Amsterdam server from India

Hey folks, I have setup Next using DoH on windows natively, the issue I am facing is (from what I can tell, anycast1 resolves to a decent location, blr server (though best is delhi servers because of location proximity) but anycast2 resolves to amsterdam server and for some reason, next is falling back to anycast2 pretty frequently leading to some horrendous slowdowns and ping spikes. How do I resolve this? I really want to upgrade to premium but this is holding me back.

the reason I am sure its anycast2 is that as soon as I disable the fallback IP 45.90.30.0, and only keep the primary one, I instantly connect to bombay server

I would keep it at that for the time being, don’t use 45.90.30.0

It should be ok during the short term to have it setup in that way.

what would be the long term solution? I have tried making a couple of bug report posts while attaching my diag and none of them go past the waiting for approval status.

You will have to wait on those posts to be approved, may take a few days depending upon when NextDNS staff get round to tiding up the forums.

Long term fix would be for NextDNS to configure the routing for your IP address range, to point towards your more local PoP servers. Another option would be to use a different setup to connect with NextDNS (running yoga DNS is one) rather than the windows built in DoH. That should give you a connection to the ultralow marked servers on ping.nextdns.io
