Device not connecting via IPv6

I'm having difficulties finding how to troubleshoot this. I have setup my router to use nextdns as dns for both IPv4 and IPv6. The configuration is working for my phone and tablet, the indicator in the setup tab shows they're connected with the right config and their queries show up with IPv6 addresses, but on my computer I get the: "This device is using NextDNS with no configuration. Make sure to link your IP address in the Linked IP section below." message. I've checked using two browsers and ipv6-test.com shows that IPv6 is supported and working. Additionally, ip.me shows an IPv6 address. Yet nextdns.io only recognizes my computer through IPv4. If I link my IPv4 address it works and shows my computer's activity with the IPv4 address. But, since I have a dynamic IPv4 address, I'd rather use IPv6.

I managed to get dnamasq setup by passing it the conf nextdns.io suggests in the setup tab and it works now. It's even logging my computers query with it's IPv6 address instead of the IPv4 one. Still don't know why nextdns wasn't picking up it's IPv6 address by default though.
