"Goodbye Ads" and "StevenBlack" block Google RCS and Youtube Search History.

I have finally discovered the source of my issue and it is embarrassing. The "Goodbye Ads" blocklist in NextDNS was the culprit. it was blocking these important domains, which makes rcs unable to recieve unless messages is opened.

 

instantmessaging-pa-jms-us.googleapis.com

mobileconfiguration-pa.googleapis.com

play.googleapis.com

 

and xiaomi has a couple of extras too.

 

app.chat.global.xiaomi.net

resolver.msg.global.xiaomi.net

 

after unblocking these my issue has been fixed. 

On a Sidenote, removal of "StevenBlack" and "Goodbye Ads" sources as it seems you cannot selectively unblock needed sources for YouTube search history from them which are

 

s.youtube.com

youtubei.googleapis.com

firebaseinstallations.googleapis.com

 

please allow better management of allowlist so we can allow sources through completely.

    So it seems adding these settings fixes the whitelist issue but im unsure which ones actually make allowlist work again...

    In my tests, Lightswitch and StevenBlack had the most False Positives

    Hi. My suggestion is use only HaGeZi blocklists. Not only for quality. Add or quit site have incredible analysis en speed.  I try many blocklists and decide for HaGezi.

       NextDNS no esta abandonado. Su objetivo es la seguridad y la performance. En ese sentido puede haber diferentes propuestas y estas adaptarse a los objetivos de diferentes personas. En mi caso, como usuario de este servicio por años y dando un uso familiar a todos mis dispositivos de la firma Apple, NextDNS ha cumplido con su objetivo y lo sigue haciendo. Para otras personas puede haber otras propuestas y entiendo que sea asi. Hoy NextDNS tiene un ping de 19 a 23ms eso es muy importante para mi red del hogar. Son diferentes necesidades. Soy profesional de sistemas hace mas de 45 años y soy muy detallista en el análisis de los servicios que uso. Le envío saludos.
