How to use NDNS on a Vizio Smart TV

Hello.

I have changed the default servers to NDNS's DNS servers, but since there's not an option in the settings page for Smart TV's, it doesn't say "All Good". It's blocking a few things, but i'm just wondering if there's something else I need to do???

You changed the DNS where, and how.

It's always good to start with the basics:

    Like this ones:

    https://help.nextdns.io/t/g9hmvan/what-is-linked-ip

If your TV, or any other device, allow you to change the DNS you don't need special instructions. It's the same principle. If possible avoid DNSv4 and v6. V4 need linked ip.

I don't know how it is on Vizio but on LG you can only change the v4. The good thing is that it allows you to disable v6.

If the device does not have the option to change it, then it depends on the router, modern, ont... If possible. Some ISP do not allow you to change anything.

Showing your unique identifiers like Mac address is not a good idea.

Like I said, you need to do some reading to understand how all this works.

    DNS v4 need linked ip.

It's possible that your device does not allow you to set or disable the v6 but it can still uses one. Then your only option is to set it (or disable it) in router/modem/ont.

If you can, install the CLI in router.

If you can set the Https or tls on router/devices.

This are useful to check your network settings.

https://browserleaks.com/dns (this one have different tools)

    https://www.dnsleaktest.com

There are explanations for all this in setup page, knowledge base, community (use search) or on web.

If your device uses v6 but it does not allow you to set it or disable it and you can't install CLI or set dns over Https/tls or v6 on router then you will have dns leakage. One resolver for v4 and another for v6.

When you have internet access, an OS and apps that read and send your Mac address and IP there's no more local. They collect this informations in databases to track and can make the connection between the Mike.1 and the real person behind.

We know that this Mac address device connect to this Mac address router and this router is in X place. Once they have this info they know who you are even if you use VPN.

You can easily change your IP, you can even move in another city, but the Mac address will remain.

Many people don't believe that the tracking and spying is at this level, even if there are proofs (apps that collect and send data, VPNs that collected and sold data), as they say that they have nothing to hide or that I'm a nobody, why will someone tracking and spying on me.

I guess people like Snowden risked all in vain.
