Very slow resolution

Have a DECO M4 Tplink mesh router. Setup the recommended 45.90.28.15 and 45.90.30.15 NextDNS servers for the network (Internet connection > IPV4 > primary and secondary DNS) but *very* slow resolution.
Traceroute on an android device acting as client of the network (no local DNS set other than the router) gives the attached where the latency is seen. Seemingly many hops to get to the DNS server, with some hops being very slow.
I know I can set the nextdns DNS in the phone itself, but I want this working at the root in the router so all devices benefit automatically.
Any advice?

What are you seeing for ping.nextdns.io?

Hi, doesn't seem to have improved really. Latest traceroute to 45.90.28.15 is attached

@NextDNS Network any feedback?

Hello, I enter the DNS addresses given in the TP link Archer BE900 router. 1 Gbps fiber drops to 100-200 mbps. It works when I set it on a device basis.

Our ISP uses DPI and I'm trying to overcome this with nextdns. I want all devices to browse the internet freely without using it on a device basis.
