DNS Routing choosing a slower and much further DNS server for routing.

Good Evening,

It seems my DNS setup is choosing to route to a less than optimal location in Texas rather than route through Denver which is much closer to my location. Can you please assist on next steps?

I'm suspicious this is happening with me as well because of streaming issues.  How did you find out you were going to a location further away?

if you run dnscheck.tools on a web browser it will show you where your current resolvers are running out of. I was using it to verify I was getting IPV6 Resolvers correctly on my network and that's when I found the routing issue. I live in Colorado but I am resolving out of Texas which is just illogical.

I'm resolving out of my local city, but occasionally (like 1 out of 10 times) it will list a Canadian address in addition to my local servers and also like Yandex with a Russia domain name.  I posted about it here and on Reddit, but to date nobody from NextDNS has commented on it.

I am probably going to switch over to AdGuard Home since their support team is nowhere to be found right now. I could easily run it CLI in my router or  just buy a cheap OrangePI and route dns with that. I have also looked into using PiHole so I can manually set my DNS zone, something the paid version of NextDNS really should offer. Why I cannot choose my own resolver with a company that has a paid tier is ridiculous. Hopefully you finally get a response and hopefully they see this thread as well but I am not holding my breath. I will take my business elsewhere if this is the norm for communication response times.

Going on almost 4 days now @NextDNS..... time to scrap your service and find another provider that actually gets back to me.

Holy crap, so glad I took the time to write about my issue and never received any help 3 weeks later..... no wonder everyone left this shitty product. TO ANYONE READING THIS! Do not use NextDNS, they allow your logs to be collected by a 3rd party, they will not troubleshoot routing issues or follow up with you no matter how many times you ask for help and they do not answer their customer support line for refunds if you paid for the service. 0/10, I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

What proof do you have that they allow collection of our logs by a third party?
