Smart Lights not working through Amazon Alexa

Since installing nextdns into my openwrt router, none of my house' smart lights are working... is this a known issue and is there a work around? I ask Alexa to turn off office light but she says "office light is not responding" and at the same time I look in nextdns logs and there is no blocked connection...

any help would greatly be appreciated

    Is it possible Alexa is attempting to access your lights through a LOCAL connection on your router?  If so the problem could be due to "DNS rebinding protection"  which you can disable in the Security tab.     If that doesn't fix it, I would suggest re-enablling that option.
