Heard conflicting info and confused - what to do if ISP assigns me new IP every couple of days? Re-register with paid plan?

Short Version: If my ISP assigns me a new IP address every couple of days, do I have to do anything special for either the WIndows-11 "DNS over HTTPS" , or my older Router's "enter the DNS IPv4 address" textboxes?

Long Version:

Sorry if this is clearly specified in the FAQ's and such, but I literally have 4 friends arguing over this.  2 are saying it's a problem, 2 are saying it's fine.

I signed up for the paid plan; figure it's cheap enough and I like what they're doing.

My friends said though that if my ISP changes my IP address, I have to "do something" with the setup page to re-link my new IP address with NextDns so everything works correctly.

Is this true?

I could understand Windows-11 might be fine with that URL, but what about my router with the basic IPv4 address?

Setup:

Desktop: Windows 11, using DNS over HTTP manual template (URL per instructions)

Router: Older Linksys, where DNS is simple IPv4 address (per router instructions)

(Router would be for my other devices: AppleTV, iPad, etc.)

    «Is this true?»

    Yes.

If the router is capable use the nextdns.io/cli

Yeah as noted above, it is correct that you will likely need to make some changes if IPs keep changing AND you are using IP addresses only

The Windows client will be fine - Anything using DoH, DoT or the NextDNS app will continue to use the correct profiles because these are not dependent on your IP

Not many routers support NextDNS CLI and I can't imagine your older Linksys will, especially if it does not natively have an option to specify a DoH endpoint (which is what I do on my router)

Depending on your Linksys model you may be able to flash a custom firmware like OpenWRT if you are comfortable in doing so

If you want a lower tech, lower touch option, then there is a script that you can run from a device inside your network to ping your NextDNS account and have it update the IP address frequently, which will make the IP changes less problematic. In the dashboard expand 'Advanced Options' under 'Linked IP' to get your specific endpoint.

This obviously needs a device that is always on. I use my Homeassistant for this, albeit it's not really necessary for me to use it.
