test.nextdns.io shows the protocol as UDP, instead of DoH or DoT

I have configured NextDNS using Linked IP with DDNS. The DDNS interacts with my router. Everything seems to be working ok, except that the protocol shown is UDP. Is it possible to change it to DoH or DoT? If yes, how?

I think I found my answer here https://help.nextdns.io/t/m1hmv0k/which-setup-type-to-use

UDP is the default and only option, for those modems/routers that only support IPV4 :-/

Even if your router supports IPv6, if it doesn't support DoH/DoT then it can't use them.

On the other hand, most devices support either DoT (Android, iOS, macOS) and/or DoH (Windows 11, iOS, macOS, desktop browsers) with the caveat you need to set it up on the device/browser setting. That would work even without IPv6.

the per-device option is not a suitable option for multi-device and large family

I'd say otherwise, were a 5 people family, and I've set NextDNS as Private DNS for all phones in the family and the Windows app when necessary.

DOT is much better as it also applies for mobile data and that's far more important imo.

Au contraire, in such cases per-device option is better since you can tell which device made which request, useful for monitoring for infection or minors accessing porn (even if they go around it with custom DoH on the browser, at least you can tell that their device suddenly sends far less request).
