Need help getting started with NextDNS, please!

I am trying to block Discord and Signal from my home network to protect my kids. I have the free version as a trial of NextDNS. I added the 2 DNS servers in my router under DNS. I am using an Eero router.

Under the 'setup' tab on NextDNS, it says "All Good! This device is using NextDNS with this profile".  However occasionally it'll rotate and say "This device is using xyz as a DNS resolver" or something similar, with a red dot. Currently as I type this, it says "All Good".

Under "Denylist", I have *.signal.org" as well as "*.discord.com". However, I am still able to visit those sites on my computer as well as my sons computer.

It appears Discord may be blocked as the app on his computer doesn't load. Signal still loads however. I do have Discord and Steam both added under Parental Controls as well.

Can someone please help me with this so I can get these apps blocked on his computer? Thank you so much

    Hi,

Have you tried setting NextDNS as your preferred DNS resolver in your browser settings?

You can find step-by-step instructions in the Setup Guide under the Setup tab on your NextDNS account page.

Thanks for the response. However I found another solution that works much better, and has direct support through the company rather than community based. It's the same cost and works much better than Nextdns. I need something that is network based, not client based.
