links.da.slickdeals.net fails on NextDNS even when explicitly allowed - other DNS providers work

As reported by this other user here:

We cannot access links.da.slickdeals.net despite having it in our allowlists.  I see it indicated as permitted per that list in the logs, but the error remains.  Multiple browsers, extended period of time.  If I change my upstream DNS from NextDNS to Google, OpenDNS, etc., it works just fine.
