NextDNS is causing the Kayo app to freeze, lock up and crash

I'm running NextDNS on my Amazon TV Firestick 4K Max which includes the default built-in 'NextDNS Ads & Trackers Blocklist'. I'm also blocking a few choice domains as well – *.ark.tubi.video, *.rainmaker.production-public.tubi.io, and *.cws.conviva.com

The Kayo app is freezing, locking up the OS and crashing every 15 minutes or so on my Amazon TV Firestick 4K Max.

 

It is definitely due to NextDNS itself being that it is the custom private DNS I have assigned to the Amazon TV Firestick 4K Max when connecting my Wi-Fi network to the device.

The Kayo app was not freezing, locking up or crashing previously when I was using the default DNS automatically provided to me by my IP.

Can anyone help me with regards to preventing the Kayo app from freezing, locking up and crashing on my Amazon TV Firestick 4K Max so that I can keep using my NextDNS configuration?

    I have no idea about the Kayo app itself but if you want very little breakages you should stop using the default list (NextDNS ads) and just use OISD + Hagezi Normal.

    Also another problematic setting in NextDNS is to use the block page feature, make sure it’s switched off.

    Hagezi Normal seems to break the Kayo app as well, just like the default list (NextDNS ads). When neither Blocklist is activated the Kayo app works like normal with no freezing or locking or crashing. 'Block Page' is disabled by default.

    Hi. I have a same device. I use Tailscale (free version with 100 device max) and use NextDNS integrated on these service. I use default NextDNS blocklist and hagezi normal. No problems for now on any service. I use also Plex personal server on my home. I use Fire TV when on a trip with my family several time on a year. Use less restrictive blocklists, is my suggestion. Best.
