High Ping.

Hello

Overall NextDNS ping is higher. that means all websites or web applications load slower. It's way slower than Cloudflare...

Dublin, Manchester, London, Toronto, New York, Tokyo, Seoul. They all have high ping around 40ms. on fastest network 1Gbps It's shame that NextDNS is not fast . it has higher ping. They need to fix ping number. CEO and Founder of NextDNS do you see it.. please make it lower ping and make it faster than Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 DNS.

Thanks!

Your experience isn't every one experience.

NextDNS Ping is excellent. Also, what matters is the location of the server and not the provider. If it is close to you good if not too bad.

Pierre Cartier Speed Test by cloudflare is not accurate. It uses Cloudflare Server to test it. Best way to test is fast.com

Andrew B I see you still are mixing everything between a service provider and an end user. Sorry but not sure you know what you talking about.

Also, DoQ works perfectly for Apple end user. I am full Apple and all my devices have been setup with NextDNS DoQ (TVOS, iOS, macOS or iPadOS).

Andrew B LOL.  It is not accurate but it's ping is, seriously? Again, your experience.

To test NextDNS ping there is a link for that http://ping.nextdns.io just use it and stop your NextDNS bashing. If you don't like it move on and get another provider. You said Cloudflare was great what are you waiting for?!

Andrew B My ISP said that only https://www.speedtest.net is accurate. Again everyone has his own opinion. Anyway all results are the same for me whoever I use. So somewho I just don't care. Also, it you were a bit knowledgeable you won't use any of those services but you will use the ping command in macOS Terminal. No biggie even my kids know how to do it. Same for the speed test. And those results are REAL.

Pierre Cartier I’m mostly Apple, but also run NextDNS on my ASUS router.

How do I set up DoQ?

Rob can't help you there because I don't know Asus. You want to make a web search with Asus model you own.

Anyway, you can configure all your devices with NextDNS. At least when you leave home you will still be using NextDNS DoQ.

You say things with no actual facts, just blablabla... Show me your Cloudflare results vs NextDNS. You even critique this website being not reliable, when actually it belonged to Cloudflare. Seriously mate you are a joke.

So, sorry to tell you but you are wrong. Personally I get 1 to 2 ms ping from NextDNS at home on WiFi connected to an AirPort Extreme to a 1Gb optical fiber. No issue with YT or Netflix on my iOS devices or even ATV.

Again ping, spend tests... depends where you are located to NextDNS server and which internet connection you have.

That's what I telling you since the beginning, you talk but you don't know what you are talking about. Your question just confirms it. Search for it, that's the best way to learn.

Andrew B DNS and internet performance don't have anything in common as DNS has a single job, get the IPs for the domains, it physically cannot increase or decrease your network speed.

I'd say enable Anonymized EDNS Client Subnet if not or disable it if its already enabled to try to see maybe that might have an impact but DNS can only really increase responsiveness of loading a webpage for the first time if it can provide a lower latency but other than that again not possible.
