NextDNS client not working after wake from sleep

Hello – I'm using NextDNS 1.4.3 on MacOS 11.1. Over the past week or so, every time I've woken my computer up from sleep, NextDNS will not connect and I get no internet. I've tried disabling and re-enabling, but the only solution is to quit it and then reopen it. Once reopened, it connects fine!

  • I'm experiencing a similar problem. Often, but not always, when my computer wakes from sleep, nothing will connect to the internet until I disable and re-enable the NextDNS app. I'm happy to troubleshoot if given some direction. I'm on macOS 11.2.1, NextDNS 1.4.3. Thanks!

  • I'm having the same issue as well. Took me a while to realize it's the NextDNS client on my Mac. I'm also running macOS 11.2.1 and NextDNS 1.4.3(19).

  • This is an Apple bug with their network stack following sleep, we've brought this up with them, not much we can do ourselves unfortunately. Please report it to them as well if you can.

    • Romain Cointepas Thanks for the quick response. If you shared this on their community forums, do you have a link to it? I'm not exactly sure what info I should pass along to them, but I'm willing to help out by reporting it to them as well.

  • That's weird, I'm on 11.2.1 as well and I don't see this behavior. Is it only when the Mac has been in sleep mode a long time? If so, how long?

    • Jos From what we gathered, it happens following a hibernate (disk-only) cycle.
