Next DNS not working for devices tethered to iPhone

NextDNS works fine on my phone but when other devices are connected to my iPhone and using it as a hotspot, those devices seem to bypass NextDNS. Is this expected behavior? I assumed all DNS on the iPhone would pass through NextDNS.

    I believe in that scenario, the devices connected to your iPhones hotspot would be using your Cell Provider's DNS servers by default unless the connected devices are setup to use NDNS at the client/device level. You can always run a dnsleaktest to see what the actual DNS servers are (there might also be some sort of fallback DNS involved with hotspots/tethering)
