Covenant Eyes VPN causing NextDNS to not work

I'm trying to use NextDNS to block ads but the Covenant Eyes VPN is causing it to not block ads anymore. I checked with their customer support and they said it wasn't a problem on their side / with their VPN, so the only other thing I would assume is that it's something with NextDNS and VPNs running at the same time. I can't just delete the Covenant Eyes thing (I mean I could but it's an accountability thing to this group I'm in) so it's essentially a parental control since it does block some sites.

    Most likely it’s forcing you to use their DNS servers and therefore won’t allow you to use NextDNS. What does the status page show at https://my.nextdns.io
