This device is not using NextDNS. This device is currently using ”Cloudflare” as DNS resolver.

Hello, I always used the NextDNS app on Windows without any issue. Since a few days, however, I noticed that ads started to show up in all the websites I visit, so I checked the status of NextDNS in my configuration page and I can see this:

I reinstalled the apps, followed the other techniques described in the page to configure NextDNS (adding the DNS directly in the Windows configuration, setting the DNS in the router, etc.), reboot the PC and the router, but nothing changed. I keep getting the same message (and, consequently, I keep getting ads on the web).

What am I missing?

What about browser settings? Private dns setup for starters, an update may have reset something.

Have you checked that the browser itself doesn't use its own DoH/Secure DNS? Browser setting will ignore OS setting

Ok I found out what's going on. The new VPN feature in Edge (Microsoft Edge Secure Network, which is powered by Cloudfare) got automatically turned on and it was interfering with the NextDNS configuration. Once I disable the VPN, everything starts to work again. Thanks for the hint!

I am having the same issue but with Mozilla Firefox. I am on a Linux Mint Cinnamon OS.

Just got Brave Browser resolved using NextDNS browser instructions, however, the instructions for Mozilla do not match what I see when I open the Network Setting - there is no "Enable DNS over HTTPS" option to select or toggle.

    Any ideas?

Worth noting, I do have NextDNS set up on my routers. But not sure the reference to Cloudfare means
