Latency Issue. Request to route to nearest DNS server.

Hi,

May I request to change my DNS host/route to Manila, PH (premiumrdp-mnl) instead of Tokyo.  I live in the Philippines, but the DNS server I'm being routed to is in Tokyo.

To use the ultralow server, you must use encrypted DNS. If you use the IP address 45.90.28.x/45.90.30.x, you will connect to the anycast server.

I'm using DNS over TLS on my ASUS router which, if I understand correctly, is encrypted DNS

Asus router uses static IP for encrypted DNS, so you enter the IP address range 45.90.28.0/45.90.30.0 will also connect to the anycast server.

      Try the following:

      - Go to: https://router.nextdns.io/?limit=10&stack=dual

      - Get the ultralow server IP address (with the same name on the ping page), replace the anycast server IP address.

Note: Always use 2 ultralow server IP addresses for backup and always check the IP address for updates if there are changes.

       This worked. Thank you!

Would it be a good idea to add a 3rd server with 45.90.28.0 in case the ultralow servers' IP addresses change?

Also, would you happen to know how often they change their IP address?

Of course, if you want a backup server, just add it but be careful not to choose servers that are too far away.

Usually, if they change from a lightnode provider to anexia. At this point, you need to change the IP address on the router. This doesn't happen often, like I'm in Vietnam, they just changed service providers last year.

If you use paid NextDNS (unlimited queries), I recommend that you use native dns mounted for each device (such as iOS, Android, Windows, MacOS,..). Thus, your devices will always connect to the ultralow server and be less dependent on the router's DNS.
