Incorrect map of India

The service being offered by them is actually quite good. I happen to be a free user of Next DNS and I genuinely like it. The one thing that bothers me is the incorrect map of India they have been using. It stirs up my inner nationalist sentiments, prompting me to opt for AdGuard DNS instead. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any means to contact their support team and raise a ticket in relation to this issue. This is why I have had to resort to writing a post about it.

Can you please be a bit more specific about why it is wrong. Or even show what you think it should look like.
It is unlikely to be a deliberate decision to use the current “shape” of India.

The issue with the map lies in its depiction of the territories of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) and Aksai Chin. The map incorrectly shows POK as part of Pakistan and Aksai Chin as part of China, which is not in line with internationally recognized borders.

In reality, both POK and Aksai Chin are integral parts of India. Using an incorrect map of India not only reflects inaccuracies in geographical representation but also demonstrates a lack of attention to detail and respect for accuracy. By perpetuating incorrect borders, such as showing POK as part of Pakistan and Aksai Chin as part of China, NextDNS undermines the integrity of India's territorial sovereignty. This can lead to misunderstandings, misinterpretations, and even diplomatic repercussions. It's important for companies to uphold accuracy and respect in their representations, especially when it comes to sensitive geopolitical matters

For reference, here is what a correct map of India looks like:

I don't think NextDNS deliberately tries to undermine anyone's sovereignty, if you check the average world map library for React and other frameworks, that's the common way the border is interpreted. Unless your government explicitly threatens to block/disallow payments for services that don't use your government's approved map, no one would care. Similar to "Taiwan, Province of China" in Analytics map which also rankled Taiwanese users, as long as the repercussion is merely a couple of annoyed posts, nothing will come of it, not to mention there's a larger risk of triggering Chinese netizens & government serious reaction if NextDNS deliberately change the border between India & China from the default library they use.
