I'm pretty sure Rewrites does what you are looking for.  (It's under settings)

HTTP redirect is not possible at DNS level.

rewrites accepts domains as a target, but it doesn’t seem to work.   I had figured it would act as a cname.   Rewrites works fine when the target is an IP address

using a name as rewrite will create a CNAME as you said. A CNAME is not a HTTP rewrite, it won’t redirect you browser to the target domain.

Hi NextDNS Team, does this work with Linked IP? The CNAME rewrite record I've created in the dashboard doesn't seem to resolve.

I have an A record created for media01.net.dbren.uk which works fine.

But the CNAME record created like below:

      PS > nslookup paperless.net.dbren.uk
      Server:  dns1.nextdns.io
      Address:  45.90.28.138

*** No internal type for both IPv4 and IPv6 Addresses (A+AAAA) records available for paperless.net.dbren.uk

      Does not resolve :(

So I was trying to use a rewrite for search.brave.com --> safe.search.brave.com but does not work and the the safe settings for search engines doesn't work. Do you know when either of these will work?
