DNS over HTTPS GE800 Router

Hello,

I currently have a TP-Link GE800 WiFi 7 router.

In a recent firmware update they now support DNS over HTTPS and TLS.

When I use either of these I have an issue with the router not using the HTTPS/TLS connection for very long falling back to the DDNS linked IP i have set for the router just in case. There was a 10 minute period that all devices were using the HTTPS server then they reverted back to using the linked ip DNS severs as they previously did.

This has two drawbacks, first the router traffic on unidentified devices could be identified with "Router" when HTTPS is working. And second and most important, the DNS queries are not encrypted. They were all encrypted when the HTTPS server functioned on the router.

Is the linked IP causing the issue? Why did it briefly work fine and now and can't make it work again?

This is a question for TP-Link to answer. I would think this is a sign that their DoH support is buggy.
