Pocket app issues

Hi,

Having issues with the Pocket app for Android:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ideashower.readitlater.pro

As you can hopefully see with the.imagss I have provided, I'm getting constant security warnings and all of them are in relation to NextDNS.

This same behaviour is not present on my Windows PC or Laptop, only all of my Android devices.

This may be something that can be resolved via the app developer (I have just sent feedback), but I thought it was worth asking here too if anyone has experienced it, and if they resolved it.

Kind regards

It looks like some component of the Android app is accessing a domain that your NextDNS config is blocking. In the logs tab in NextDNS, do you see any blocked domains when you’re trying to use the app?

You enabled the block page feature and did not installed the root CA.

NextDNS I'm also facing the same issue. I have installed the certificate but seems like pocket do not trust your certificate.

winsuperb don't enable block page feature and you're fine.

Apps or websites which use certificate pinning will end in such error you describe.

DynamicNotSlow hmm... I found that block page feature very good as oisd some times have false positives and I was not able to find out if the site is down or something if I don't enable block page .

winsuperb use logs and report false positives to OISD. He will fix that ASAP

DynamicNotSlow ya but i have to open the logs where to report the domain if I don't enable the blockage. Let say youtube.com is blocked by oisd but if I don't enable the block page I will have to see the logs to know that the YouTube.com is blocked by OISD or porn or adguard or any other thing.

winsuperb you have to install the root CA at the device level if you want to use the block page feature and avoid the https warnings; Otherwise any device(s) lacking the root CA (for their OS) will likely run into the same https warning prompts. The OP likely only installed the Windows root CA for their windows devices but didn't install the Android root CA on "all" their android device(s).

Imo (for personal configs), you shouldn't enable the block page if you have NextDNS setup at a global level (like at the router level) because installing root CAs because untenable the more devices you & your household have
