Issues with Xiaomi smartphone

Hi,

I have configured a Xiaomi phone with NextDNS, it works properly only if application is open in background. Just to be clear, the application is not closed with the swipe to the left. If the app is closed, I expect the service to remain open anyway (This happens on my Samsung device, because I swipe to the left or "Close All" but the NextDNS service is not interrupted. Why does this anomaly occur on Xiaomi? is it my problem or is it known and will it be solved?

    well, thank you.

    so you have to lock the app before closing it

    first swipe the app up then touch and hold on to it. you will see three options choose the lock one

    make sure that the lock sign appeared up on the app then swipe left.

    Sounds like Xiaomi use aggressive battery management. You need to add NextDNS to "not optimized".

    Or better: use private DNS "profile". No app needed. On Apple devices this is even easier with https://apple.nextdns.io/

    Thanks everyone for the answers! I was not aware of that padlock trick! I solved this, I had also thought about energy saving but it was going to impact all applications and not just NextDNS
