Google Safesearch Doesn't Filter, Only Blurs

Google safesearch has 2 modes, blur and filter. When enforce Safesearch is enabled from NextDNS, it only blurs explicit content, which can be easily accessed by just clicking "view image". Which kind of defeats the purpose of forcing a safesearch filter. I want to enfornce the filter mode where no such image appears in search results. Is there any solution to it? Thanks in advance!

Google only offers a single option for forcing safe search through DNS, so if you get blur mode instead of filter, nothing NextDNS can do about it.

I can't replicate it though, when the safe search is enabled through the DNS, the search is filtered instead of blurred, regardless if I'm logged in to Google or not.

Thanks for the reply Martheen. The blurred results don't appear directly on the initial search page, but you reach them easily if you keep opening more and more of the "similar images". You can see that in the screenshots attached.

I guess there's no solution to this as you said, because google hasn't truly forced safesearch "filter". That's kind of scary because till now I trusted NextDNS would not let explicit content come in search results of my children, but now I can't 馃槥

This counts as a bug on Google's side, but I don't think reporting it will do anything unless you spread the news through social media, news agencies, or politicians.

I suppose you can block image search entirely if you don't want these, but as always, someone who wants to find porn will always get it regardless of the technical block you have.
