    It's just a guess, but I think the reason is that the delivery of DoT/DoH is hindered somewhere in the route through the DNS of the default gateway.

    The solution was to set Google Puplic DNS (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4) on the WAN and LAN DNS of the Wi-Fi router, which is the default gateway.
