Is it normal for a router to not cache DNS lookups?

I just started using NextDNA and used up my 300,000 queries in a little over 24 hours. My home network has a large number of devices, but this seems excessive. In reviewing the NextDNS log, I see entries for the same domain over and over and over again. For example, www.google.com appeared 11 times in the same minute. My router is a business grade TP-Link ER7206. Is it normal for a router not to cache DNS lookups and provide the info to clients without going to the primary DNS server for every request?
