NextDNS is very unstable right now in Qatar (Middle East)

I have been using NextDNS for at least 3 years now. I had configuration profile setup on all iOS devices, and DoT setup on my ASUS router. This setup was working without an issue.

I woke up at 6 AM AST (UTC+3) yesterday to having no internet on my iPhone. I turned off the WiFi and re-enabled it and it started working again so I thought maybe my iPhone was acting up.

A few hours later I notice my MacBook Pro stops resolving any hostnames too. So did my iPhone and my family started complaining about internet issues on their iOS devices. That’s when I realized it was DNS issues as my Apple TV was working fine and it was using my ISP’s DNS.

I had to remove the config profiles from all devices and switch all iOS/macOS devices to use the router DNS which is using NextDNS DoT. This seems to be working fine.

When I made sure everything was good, I started testing again. First, I tried the NextDNS app on iOS but it had the same issue. I then tried the AdGuard app on iOS and set NextDNS DoT as the upstream provider. Same issue a few hours later. I tried DoH, same issue a few hours later.

I think that’s all I can try for now. I don’t know what the issue might be. Maybe something is wrong with the regional NextDNS servers in the UAE, and Saudi Arabia? It’s weird it doesn’t seem to be affecting my router though (I think it has been stable so far).

Here is the 3 NextDNS servers I connect to 99% of the time.
95.174.68.136, 185.140.251.24, 37.252.245.241
