Setting up DNS on my router messed up my laptop's VPN
I recently setup a NextDNS account and now use it as my custom DNS server through mullvad and it was working great on my laptop and computer, but I just tried to setup NextDNS on my router by adding the liked IP and IPv6 addresses to my router's settings. This seemed to work, but now when I try to connect to mullvad on my laptop, I can't connect to the internet, and when I disconnect from Mullvad, I am able to connect to the internet again. I undid the DNS settings on my router and reset it but I am still having the issue where I can't connect to the vpn and internet at the same time on my laptop. My phone is still connected to the vpn and the internet.
If I take out the IPv6 addresses from mullvad it allows me to connect to the vpn and the internet, but now I can't be connected to NextDNS.
Do you know how I could possibly fix this?
Thanks

Check your logs, probably NextDNS is blocking Mullvan because you enabled «Block Bypass Methods». When there is a problem logs should be your first thing you check.
IPv4 or IPv6 should be the last options as it is recommended in setup. And you don't set up both IPv6 and IPv4 at the same time.
Use the CLI if possible.
Then: Encrypted DNS (DoH, DoQ, DoT)
If not possible IPv6
Last resort IPv4.
It is explained in setup and in knowledge base and there are tons of explanations here in forum.
