Denylist Maximum

I have a very large denylist and I have noticed that many of the domains added to it are not being blocked. From what I can tell, the denylist will let you add as many domains as you want, but there is a maximum number that it will actually enforce.

I'm nowhere near my query maximum, so it isn't that.

Does anyone know of a published maximum? And will that maximum be increased if I upgrade to the paid version?

Don't know the details but be sure to not have the same domain active in the «Denylist» and «Allowlist» as it will not be blocked anymore.

I have between 30 - 50 depending on the profile and they all work as intended.

Form what was always said the only difference between the free and paid version is the 300k monthly limit.

Also be sure to check the quota on the https://my.nextdns.io/account as the numbers on the «Analytics» are a different thing.

I have confirmed that my allowlist isn't conflicting with my denylist.

My denylist has over 10,000 domains on it, which is why I suspect that there is a non-published maximum.

This is hilarious, why do you think that you need thousands of domains? Most of them are already in the different lists so it is pointless. Just look at the amount of entries in the lists, you have more than some lists. You only need a domain blocked by one option or list and once it is blocked by them there is no need to have it in Denylist, this is just for something specific, personal. I personally use only few good options and 4 lists and this are behind the browser that block some and then AdGuard that block some more. Like this once put in place I don't need to bother with it anymore.

It’s not like I’ve been adding domains one by one. I set up a cloud fare worker using NextDNS API to pull domains from a list located online and add them all to the denylist automatically.

It wasn’t an elegant solution, but it also wasn’t an ad-blocking attempt on my part. You’re right - those domains are all addressed by the lists in NextDNS. none of the lists or categories in NextDNS address the domains I’m trying to block
