I cannot access Facebook with NextDNS enabled

I cannot access Facebook through the iOS app with NextDNS enabled. I disabled every blocklist and privacy setting and yet Facebook will not load through their app. I changed my DNS to Cloudflare and the problem was immediately fixed.

    Hello,

i have the same issue with Plex. I don’t have any blacklist enabled and I am unable to login on my personal Plex media server from Plex IOS app (iPhone).

As soon as I disable NextDNS IOS App, no issue.

what should I configure ? I repeat, I have no blacklist defined...

    Thanks.

Christophe Yayon allow plex.direct or disable DNS Rebinding Protection under Settings

in my context, i think there is an issue with the callback plex url, it choose one of my IP addresses which not match with my dns resolution. I have configured my external url to be resolved from only one of my IP address (best speed link) and it do not match with Plex outbound request.

For example, i have 2 XDSL link and 1 LTE. Outbound request from Plex come from XDSL1 link and my external Plex URL resolve to my LTE IP address. I think it is an issue in my context with Nextdns association.

Hello, is there a solution to this problem yet? I understand blocking facebook is a priority for some, but I actually want facebook to load correctly at least and then block the trackers and ads.

Strako did you check the logs what is denied and which blocklist or rule denies it?

      crssi It blocks graph.facebook.com
But even if I turn off all blocking by removing every blocklist (and turning off every option just to test it), the app doesn't load or refresh as intended.

Strako so... when you turned off every blocklist the graph.facebook.com is still denied?

If so, you should hoover over info beside the blocked domain where you will learn what caused the deny

crssi No it's allowed but the app still doesn't load correctly.

Weird it seems to be a bug because sometimes its blocking and sometimes not, no matter if the blocklist is enabled or not.

Strako did you reboot your device?

Old cache entries will end in such behavior

      DynamicNotSlow I did.

If nextdns is active (either through app or DNS setting) it doesn't work anymore.

Then I wouldn't know... or is your computer/device or nextdns... I am mostly on Milano and Frankfurt nextdns nodes and have no problem.

Found the solution. I notice graph.facebook.com, was blocked a lot, then notice only one blocker "goodbye ads" was blocking that link, then I instantly know this is not right, because OISD and others were not blocking it. So I just added it on "allow list", graph.facebook.com, now it works on mobile too. Hope it will help everyone who can't figure out the issue.

xenstar best way is reporting this to the specific maintainer.
If he doesn’t answer, just disable the list.
