State wide domain blocks

It seems states are essentially blocking access to certain websites, and the websites are doing it based off of DNS location not IP.

For instance, these websites are inaccessible while using NextDNS Texas server.

Encountered this while not being in the state of Texas. The site was blocked, and couldn't be accessed til switching NextDNS server. So certain states have their own self censorship and blocking rules.

Not sure if there is a way around this other than not using that location? But its not easy to switch NextDNS location.
