NextDNS DNS server location

Hi,

I'm currently based in Albania. I ran NextDNS through Openwrt https-dns-proxy package and it works as expected, I can see the logs on my dashboard account.

I see that the selected NextDNS DNS server is in North Macedonia, Skopje or Bulgaria, Sofia. I guess it is based on my current location, as it is considered closer to where I live. If I test with Cloudflare the location is Sofia, Bulgaria.

However other services like Google, Adguard get connected to servers in Italy or Germany. Testing DNS speed at: https://dnsspeedtest.online/

I have notice that the Google servers in Milano, Italy or Quad9 in Germany tend to be the fastest. This would make sense, even though Milano, Italy is further away in distance form Tirana, Albania compared to Skopje, North Macedonia, I know that the main fiber connections of Albania to Frankfurt Internet Hub in Germany pass from the sea and connect through Italy.

Wouldn't It would make sense for NextDNS to pickup a server in Italy instead of another country in my case?

Yeah the ones mentioned above in Skopje, Sofia pop up first. Nothing pops up in Italy
