NextDNS CLI on Asuswrt-Merlin

As the topic states, I've installed nextdns cli on asuswert-merlin running on RT-AC68U
The installation went very much smoothly.

I can see the DNS traffic showing on the nextdns webpanel. On the setup panel it states the device is using nextdns. All is great.

Now I went to check try some of the suggested nextdns commands.

nextdns log

This yielded an error that stated something around:

Exit State 1

For sure I know the number was "1"
The reason I can't remember nor copy and paste the error message is because I rebooted the router, I'd figured that perhaps a little jiggled of the handle would make the pieces fall in their right place.

After the router rebooted now any nextdns commands yields

-sh: nextdns: not found

Funny enough the router is still using nextdns as the dns resolver.
I can see the dns logs on the webpanel. It also shows that all dns queries are 100% encrypted.

What is happening?
What am I doing wrong; how can I get nextdns cli fully and properly working so that I may take full advantages of the features it promises?

Running the installation command again does recognize that nextdns cli is installed and yields the expected prompt

admin@host:/tmp/home/root# sh -c "$(curl -sL https://nextdns.io/install)"
INFO: OS: asuswrt-merlin
INFO: GOARCH: armv5
INFO: GOOS: linux
INFO: NEXTDNS_BIN: /jffs/nextdns/nextdns
INFO: INSTALL_RELEASE: 1.39.4
c) Configure NextDNS
r) Remove NextDNS
e) Exit
Choice (default=c):

I went ahead and checked thread suggested on the nextdns cli installation wikipage for asuswrt-merlin

Try using /jffs/nextdns/nextdns instead of use “nextdns”. It is likely that the command is no longer in the path.

      NextDNS This worked 👍

      After using

      /jffs/nextdns/nextdns

      nextdns works as expected.

The issue is always present after a route reboot.

Is there away to have nextdns active/on the path after a router reboot?

      Thank you.
