IP shows as linked but says I'm not using a profile

As you can see in the screenshot, my IP is linked but it says I'm not using a profile. What gives?

Why not use the OS built-in Private DNS/DNS Profile? You don't need to link the IP that way. Linked IP is only used for the unencrypted endpoint, but if your device/browser set its own DoH/DoT setting, it will ignore the unencrypted setting.

I want to use it as a DNS server for my wireguard config. I'm quite often on a public wifi network that blocks DoT/DoQ/DoH.

on Android, DoT with Private DNS works alongside the standard Wireguard client (ie, if you set DoT to your NextDNS config, it will override the DNS set on WireGuard).

not in kernel mode it won't, and you completely missed the second part, and are continuously failing to address the original question in the post. I'm not asking about private DNS, I'm quite aware of it. It's just not suitable for my desired setup.
