NextDNS doesn’t work on Claro Brazil mobile network

Today is the fourth or fifth day that NextDNS simply doesn’t work on Claro Brazil mobile network.

 

5 days ago it didn’t work on Vivo/telefonica Brazil for a few hours, but on next day the same thing happened on Claro network and still wasn’t restored up to today.

 

Other users reported that same problem on Reddit.

I run the diag from NextDNS on my Mac connected thru my iPhone.

and a colleague who is also having this problem, being on another state run his test directly on his router

How does NextDNS app connects to NextDNS, its DoH, DoT, just uses IPv6?

app is abandoned for years, would be nice having some diagnostics options and maybe alternative routing in cases of problems or blocking.

    The app uses DoH. DoT seems to be the issue here. Would you have the ability to run a quick test on your mac using their network? If yes, can you please run this command and paste the output?

       using PingPlotter on iPhone itself it manages to ping, but enabling NextDNS on the app/phone doesn’t work just like trying to ping from the Mac terminal.

       claro really blocked dns (dot) NextDNS (dot) io 

       

      a colleague discovered that using dns2 (dot) nextdns (dot) io works on Android (why nextdns app doesn’t try to use other servers/domains?)

       Claro BR Is deliberately blocking nextdns main dns address.

       

      on Android you can use dns2(dot)nextdns(dot)io on the domain instead of the regular one and that dns2 still works.

       

      @NextDNS needs to update their iOS/android app to include alternative servers address to fix this or contact Claro BR threatening to sue them to stop blocking the service
