Windows Installer Breaks Hyper-V/Android Subsystem
Hi,
I recently switched from manually configuring my DNS settings to using the Windows NextDNS installer on Windows 11. After running the installation, DNS is broken for my virtualized environments running under Hyper-V on Windows. This includes a linux Hyper-V machine and the Windows Subystem for Android. These systems remain broken, even after uninstalling the NextDNS client/service.
What I've noticed: These Hyper-V systems are configured to point to a local virtualized switch for DNS. If I change `/etc/resolv.conf` on my Linux system, all good, it works again; however, there's not a good way (that I know of) to modify the DNS resolver in WSA.
If I disable Windows Defender, DNS resolution starts working in these virtualized environments. I'm guessing the NextDNS installer adds some firewall rules that the un-installer doesn't clean up. I'm also not savvy enough with Windows' firewall to work out which rules are the culprits. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
