Issues with NextDNS on Mobile Data - Internet Stops Working (iPhone SE2, iOS 18.0.1, Configuration Profile)
Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with NextDNS on my iPhone SE2, running the latest iOS 18.0.1. Everything works perfectly when I'm connected to WiFi, but as soon as I leave the WiFi network or disable it, my internet stops working entirely when using mobile data. For reference, I’ve installed the NextDNS configuration profile for iOS.
To get the internet working again, I have to go into my iPhone settings, disable NextDNS (under DNS settings), and switch it to "Automatic" instead. This workaround gets me back online, but it defeats the purpose of having NextDNS configured.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
I didn’t choose any advanced settings when installing the NextDNS profile, just stuck with the default options.
No changes to my Safari (hide ip, advanced tracking and fingerprinting protection etc.) or network settings either, so I’m not sure if that’s where the issue might be.
I’ve never had this issue before when running older iOS versions and I'm pretty new to NextDNS, so I’m wondering if this could be due to some setting on my iPhone (like Safari settings) or something related to the configuration profile itself?
Has anyone else experienced something similar or know what might be causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am having the same problem on my Android Samsung S23+. I had set a custom DNS provider to the DoH URL for the profile. This has worked great for months but started acting up around Oct 15th.

Hello PmMe..
This is my default setup for my iPhone 7 by using NextDNS apps from the appStore looks like you can follow. I use Warp as VPN (1.1.1.1/Cloudflare) and NextDNS apps as DNS.
Not recommended anything to install, but it's ok to install NextDNS certificate.
