Blocked connections not showing in log or analytics

I have setup NextDNS as DNS service for our home internet and enabled almost all of the blocking options for privacy and security.

The issue is that a Samsung TV and the PS4 stopped working after doing that. As I am not the one using those devices I had no idea that they were not working and had to do some searching why those two were not able to connect to the internet. After trying out some things and NextDNS log/analytics not showing any relevant blocked DNS queries, I decided to switch to another DNS server and voilá, both devices could connect to the internet again!
So it seems like some (blocked) queries won't show up in logs/analytics!

    „So it seems like some (blocked) queries won't show up in logs/analytics!” – wrong, if NextDNS is blocking it it's in the logs. You just have to check the logs when that device is started and look at what request are made. Some necessary domains are not that obvious... 

    „and enabled almost all of the blocking options for privacy and security.” – you should not enable everything if you don't want troubles. Use only a few list and one that are not aggressive if you are not tech savvy or don't want to waste your time time troubleshooting. 

    „I decided to switch to another DNS server and voilá, both devices could connect to the internet again!” - you would have had the same revelation using NextDNS without the ID or with another configuration that doesn't have „everything enabled”. 

    The basic lists are not unique, the ones that are maintened have the same domains in them for the most part. The ones that are more aggressive are not for everyone.

      thanks for the aggressive comment and useless advice!

      you have no idea how empty or clogged my logs are, further more by only showing the blocked queries, you usually should be able to pin down the offending filter list, which obviously was not the case, because (as I already mentioned) nothing shows up in the logs!
       

      besides why shouldn't you enable all filter lists that could potentially protect the other people using the same internet connection? when problems arise, then they will tell me and I should be able to tell which filter list leads to trouble by sifting through the blocked queries, which again, did not show anything!
