nextdns has broken my machine

I installed nextdns and it worked on my linux mint machine BUT does not work with my Proton VPN. I have used your uninstaller command line but your setup / settings are still controlling my internet access when I use my vpn. PLEASE help rid your software and settings from my laptop.
