Android 11 - Google Play Store(v 24.7.28-21)- Apps Download/Update

I am ready to give up at this point. As the title says, I cant seem to figure out why I can't download/update any apps on the Google Play Store running on Galaxy S10 (Android 11). I've added all of the domains I could find on the web after searching for help on the issue but still can't download any apps or update them either!

I even tried to disable some of the blocklists but it still won't help!

Anyone have an idea or solution you like to share?

This is what i need to have unblocked:

    android.clients.google.com

    play-lh.googleusercontent.com

    connectivitycheck.gstatic.com

    play.googleapis.com

    gvt1.com

    Maybe, android.googleapis.com

Check the logs, select "Blocked Queries Only" and expand to see why domains are blocked, which list(s). You have all the tools you need in your account, you don't need to search the web for this.

If you also use some blocking app like AdGuard, Blockada etc it might be from it.  I use AdGuard and I block many things from Google, but like on nextdns, the log is the first thing to check when there are problems.

Don't enable all the Blocklists, I have this ones:

    AdGuard DNS filter

    notracking

    Energized Ultimate

    oisd

losnad there is nothing in the blocked queries about it unfortunately. Or else I would have have solved it already.

*For some reason it didn't allow me to edit the post anymore so ...

I also use Tor Browser and Firefox with all the security add-ons and custom Enhanced Tracking Protection and problems appear so you need to be able to investigate from where is the problem. It's the add-on, the browser, the AdGuard  or the DNS.

This isn't a bug on nextdns, you should read about what and how to use it, start with what is recommended and as you become more confident you can be more aggressive with what you Block. You can even have the same domain in both Denylist and Alowlist and just enable/disable as needed.

This doesn't inherently sound like a dns problem but I'd recommend following Google's troubleshooting for starters

Ruby Balloon This isn't the case here... The issue I am having is very well discussed both for NextDNS and Pihole.

ok, so I dug into the logs further and what I ended up doing is adding *gvt2.com. As soon as I did that, all the apps started updating in Google Play.

Aspi Personally, gvt2 & gvt3 domains are always blocked & I have no problems downloading/updating apps using the recommended NextDNS, oisd, and 1Hosts (lite) blocklists

Only the gvt1 domains are unblocked but glad your issue is resolved

Hi, I've been a paying customer for 6 months. Working fine, then suddenly none of my Android devices could download updates. What changed?

Also noticed CHEF-KOCH Spotify filter prevents updates.

No whitelisting needed. (If you have white listed gvt remove it)

    Check it.
