Why is it that I am in Shanghai, China, but this DNS service keeps resolving the IP addresses of some websites to locations thousands of miles away, when there are closer servers available?

ControlD lies | NextDNS service level blocking
ControlD has mentioned on their website that NextDNS doesn't have service level blocking feature. The feature has existed for years here. Am I missing something?
