block messaging apps only category

allow social browsing but block the messaging/DM portions. Basically the opposite of Blocks all social networks sites and apps (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, etc.).  I’m looking to block all of WhatsApp

For WhatsApp, block *.whatsapp.com and *.whatsapp.net. The CSP itself shows WhatsApp-specific realtime/network endpoints like wss://*.whatsapp.com:*, v.whatsapp.net, and *.whatsapp.net, so DNS-blocking those should disable WhatsApp pretty directly.

For Facebook/Messenger, it is harder to separate cleanly. Messenger/realtime traffic appears to use endpoints like gateway.facebook.com, edge-chat.facebook.com, snaptu-d.facebook.com, kaios-d.facebook.com, and broad websocket access under wss://*.facebook.com:*. Blocking the narrow chat endpoints may help, but blocking enough to fully kill Messenger may also break normal Facebook behavior.
