Crunchyroll Buffering Error

That has a lot to do with CrunchyRoll itself not the DNS filtering. They've been getting hammered as of late with DDOS attacks and other various attacks. 

Just to be fair, I ran into this myself and reproduced the issue directly on my phone. The Crunchyroll app would load normally, but playback would get stuck on the infinite spinner until I tracked it down through the NextDNS logs.

In my case, these two domains needed to be allowlisted:

• crunchyroll.com
  

   

• play.googleapis.com
  

   

After allowing those, streaming started working normally again.

Looks like the Android app relies on Google Play API calls during playback/session initialization, and blocking that breaks the stream startup process.
