DNS Rewrites per subdomain?

Is there are way to create dns rewrites that aren't for the entire domain? If not, is there a feature request page I could add this to?

For example, I would like to be able to do the following:

app1.mydomain.com ---> 10.0.1.1

app2.mydomain.com ---> 10.0.1.2

Having to rewrite the entire domain seems very limiting.

    Your example should be possible. What happens when you try putting them in the rewrites?

      it adds a leading .  
       

      so it ends up looking like 

       

      .app1.mydomain.com 

      So it is rewriting the entire .app1.mydomain.com which isn’t helpful.

       Could you provide a further example of where it’s a problem for you. Or are you saying there’s a sub subdomain that’s to be handled differently?
